The Passing of Sanctuary Resident Admiral Poco

Vice Admiral Poco Bear Bremner Lindhurst, USN (Ret.); 11; died on Sunday, February 15, 2015. A true patriot and admired leader, he embodied the best of his generation. He will be deeply missed as a loving, devoted companion, and remembered fondly as a respected naval officer and friend.

Born near Tonawanda, NY he spent his formative years struggling to survive only to join the navy right out of high school. He entered the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated.

Upon completion of submarine training, he joined the crew of the USS Creek, making six war patrols in the Pacific campaign. Before becoming the commanding officer of the heavy cruiser Beaver Creek, Poco completed an unpublished number of black ops tours as a navy seal; those records are sealed for national security.

His great sense of humor and engaging personality drew people around him wherever he went.

Admiral Poco was predeceased by his devoted brothers Misiu and Gizmo. Admiral Poco will be missed dearly by his parents, Amy and Brent; his Grandparents, Brian and Ellen; his sister Super Taz; and his brothers Jackson and Gus.
Admiral Poco will be cremated accompanied by a ceremony of  full Military Honors on February 27, 2015.
Rest in peace trooper, you’ve been called home.
