As I sit down to write this, I’ve just received the news that the family wishing to adopt Muffin has been approved for her adoption. They want to bring her home the next day. Which happens to be 2014 New Years Eve.
For Beaver Creek Farm Sanctuary, the animal rescue charity Brent and I co-founded, its the end of BCFS year one and the beginning of another. Muffin’s good fortune and impeccable timing is just too perfect an example of what was, for me, 2014-to-the-extreme. Cheers, fears and tears all in one and the same (never simple) event.

Congratulations to our Snuffles on making an excellent choice of furever home in the person of our Board Member and Director Bill. Bill and Stewie had been caring for Snuffles as a foster dog.
Bailey is a senior Shih Tzu and our most recent addition to the Beaver Creek Farm Sanctuary dog foster program. He’s a gracious little dog in many ways, and true to his lap dog Shih Tzu heritage. Is there such thing as love at first sight? Who knows, but we do know there is definitely such a thing as “super immediate mushy love” on Gotcha Day! Fletcher had met his new family just once before – a meet and greet is part of the adoption process – but you’d think Fletcher had known them a lifetime considering the adoring eyes and big paw-ful hugs he was wrapping around John and Jenifer!
Muffin is a plucky little two year old Shih Tzu with a big bad life story. We hope to find the angel furever family that will make her future the brightest it can be. Here’s why …
